5 hints and tips your IT tech wants you to know

When you call A Tech in Need we are here to make your life easier. But in the interests of saving time and money we have a few tips for you.

Its ok to not have a clue what you are talking about

When people call A Tech in Need they feel the need to make apologies or start by letting me know how stupid they are when it comes to all things technical. When you call A Tech in Need we have spent years being educated in how IT systems work, we don’t expect or need to you know what you are doing. Just tell us in plain English what went wrong and we will do our best to fix it. After all, if everyone was an IT expert, we’d be out of a job,

We’ll tell you what you did wrong

As IT professionals, we will tell you what you did wrong. We don’t want to cause embarrassment or get you in trouble, but by alerting you to what the issue is we hope to educate you so it doesn’t happen again, saving you time and money in the future.

Have you tried to turn it on and off?

I know this sounds a little condescending, but when your computer goes crazy don’t forget to try a simple reboot before anything else. It’s easily forgotten but fixes a myriad of issues.

Have you tried asking Google

We want your business, but there are times when asking Google can get you the answer you need. Try asking Google about your simple technical issues, you might find it saves you time and money. Use caution when trying to fix your computer though, as you don’t want to make the problem worse.

The aging process slows you down

Whilst there are a few things we can try to speed your computer up, unfortunately an older computer will naturally slow down with age. So, if your computer is four years plus in age and running slowly, there is only so much we can do before recommending a new one.

A Tech in Need on the Gold Coast is just a phone call away for all your computer repairs, computer parts, computer virus removals, data recovery, networking and WIFI needs.
