5 things you should know when buying a computer

Buying a computer can be stressful. With so many different model laptop and desktops out there, it’s hard to choose which one will best suit your needs. Here are five things you should consider when buying your next computer.

  1. Firstly, you should consider whether or not a laptop or a desktop will be a better fit. Do you work specifically from home or do you work on the go?
  2. 2. Once you’ve chosen your laptop or desktop you need to decide which operating system you would prefer. The two main operating systems available are Mac and Windows. Each of these platforms offer features to suit professionals, artists and gamers but when it comes to specifics it’s well worth taking a closer look at what each is capable of.
  3. How much space do you need? Having enough space on your computer for all of your photos, movies, word documents and other files means your computer will be able to run efficiently. If you don’t want to pay for extra hard drive space, you can also keep files on external hard drives. (This is something we recommend you do anyway, so you don’t lose anything important!)
  4. New laptops and computers can often be sold at discounted prices simply because they don’t have the updated technology on the inside. When researching your next computer purchase make sure the inside of the computer is fitted with the latest technology like dual processors. Dual processors help your computer multitask and run smoothly.
  5. Lastly when buying a new laptop, you need to consider how much memory is built in. Computer memory helps with the speed of your computer. Memory starts at 2 GB and goes up from there. Obviously, the more memory you have, the faster and more efficient your computer will be.
